Mary Baker Eddy Historic House 1865-1866

While residing at this house, Mary Baker Eddy, religious leader and author, experienced a healing of serious injuries caused by an accident in February 1866 that led to her discovery of Christian Science. This modest 19th century Greek revival house on Paradise Road is open to the public and owned and maintained by Longyear Museum, Chestnut Hill, MA.

One mile south on Rte 1A in Lynn is the house Eddy purchased 10 years later.

Driving Directions

Take Route 1A North to Lynn. Soon after the Lynn/Swampscott town line, 1A becomes Paradise Road. The house is on the right. A small parking lot is adjacent to the house.
