Derby Street Historic District

The Derby Street Historic District runs from Herbert Street north to Blockhouse Square. It also includes the House of the Seven Gables on Turner Street. This area was prominent in foreign commerce during the late 1700’s and early 1800’s. Visitors can learn about the maritime history of the city by visiting Derby Wharf, the Custom House, the Derby House, and the Salem Maritime National Historic Site.
