For someone who is cruising the Scenic Byway and wants to stop to get a slice, or even a whole pie, we’ve pulled together a few great options for you to consider.
Amazing Pizza
As the name implies, Amazing Pizza is a popular and delicious local option if you like thin crust. Their philosophy is to always use the highest quality natural and organic ingredients available, resulting in a some seriously fresh tasting pies! Little Italy’s
Little Italy’s has been a Beverly staple for decades, their award winning “sweet sauce” is definitely a local favorite, and the recipe remains a secret to this day. If you haven’t tried it, it’s a must in order to have the full North Shore pizza experience. Not a fan of sweet sauce? They now offer a traditional sauce option on all their pizzas too! Little Italy’s likes to keep their approach to pizza simple and their menu is very focused featuring pizza, breadsticks, and calzones only. Do yourself a favor and see if you’re a sweet sauce fan the next time you’re in Beverly.

Bambolina
If you prefer authentic Neapolitan or “Naples-style” pizza, Bambolina is the spot for you. You can smell Bambolina’s wood-burning oven before you even get to the door. Their approach to pizza making relies on classic culinary techniques paired with fresh simple ingredients. Each pizza is 11″ in diameter, handcrafted, and made to order – so be sure to stop in after a day of exploring the historic city of Salem.

Flying Saucer Pizza Company
Another spot in Salem that is equally good but very different is the Flying Saucer Pizza Company. Flying Saucer Pizza offers patrons a tasty traditional New York style pizza (with lots of funky topping options) paired with a quirky dining experience. The restaurant’s interior is self-described as “nerd” vana and is decorated with all sorts of awesome sci-fi memorabilia and art. Enjoy some great pizza and beers on draught along with the space-themed ambiance!

Fresca Pizza & Pasta is an Italian pizza restaurant with a serious focus on the concept of fresh (“fresca” means “fresh” in Italian!). Their wood fired Neapolitan brick oven pizza won’t disappoint and they have many other Italian food options on their menu including pasta, polenta, and arancini just to name a few! Be sure to check this spot out if you’re in Marblehead, home to one of the most beautiful harbors in the country.

If you’re looking for a classic pizza joint with some serious old school charm, look no further than Riverview Pizza! They are a family owned and operated Ipswich staple that has been around since the 1940’s. They have a very simple and pizza-focused menu. The locals love this spot and we think you will too.

Stone Crust
Stone Crust pizza is a great option in Newburyport that offers brick oven artisan pizza and is known especially for (you guessed it) their tasty crust! They have a varied menu with delicious sandwich and salad options as well. So, enjoy a lovely stroll in downtown Newburyport, take in the views, browse the shops, and pop-in for some pizza at Stone Crust.

Have you ever had classic New England beach pizza? If not, you’re in for a true North Shore treat! You can find two great beach pizza options up along the Essex Coastal Scenic Byway in Salisbury right on Salisbury Beach. What sets beach pizza apart you may ask? It is rectangular and usually has a slightly sweet sauce topped with a sprinkling of cheddar cheese – and traditionally, you can order a slice of provolone cheese on top (highly recommend). This isn’t a “summertime only” treat, cruise up to Salisbury and enjoy beach pizza any time of year!
